Everest Region Itinerary Attraction And Fees Info

Whenever someone wants to visit Nepal, he/she should have heard about the Mt. Everest, world's highest peak(8848 mtrs), which is in Himalaya
region of northern Nepal. Every year hundreds of climbers try to conquer Mt. Everest, many of them succeed. Everest region is one of the most
visited trekking region in Nepal. To get here you have two options:
1.By plane from Kathmandu to Lukla
  Normally this trip takes about 14 days trek from Lukla to Everest Base Camp and retrace back to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. The Kathmandu-  Lukla flight takes 35 minutes, normal fare this month is single flight USD 141/person and round trip fare USD 282/person
2.Drive to Jiri (8-9) hrs.
  Jiri is located at Janakpur Zone Of Eastern Development Region Of Nepal. Jiri was the only one starting point of Everest Region Trek before the
  Lukla airpot was constructed. The first summiteers of Mt. Everest, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenjing Norgey Sherpa had taken this route in 1953.
  Normally this trip takes about 21-23 days trek from Jiri to Everest Base Camp and flight back from Lukla to Kathmandu.
Everest region offers you a diverse trekking experience from a small villages in lower hilly regions to alpine villages like Panboche at the height
of 3985 mtrs. You can experience the mixed cast of people and their culture at lower region, who normally are engaged in farming whereas Sherpa are
the only one habitant of the upper Everest region who mostly are involved in hiking and climbing job.
When you start the trek at lower region, you will walk through scattered village, green forest, fields, rivers and small streams. Different types of plants, trees, animals, birds, crops, people, herds of cattle, horses, small schools, children, small trails, ups and down hills are the speciality
of lower region whereas herbs, small streams, numerous peaks, ups and downhill, teahouses,  flocks of donkeys, porters, trekkers, climbers, tall snow peaked mountains, alpine villages, glaciers, Sherpa people and their culture, Namche village, Tengboche Monastry, Lukla Airport, Syanboche airport
(not in use due to safety reason), Everest view hotel, Khumjung village, Gokyo Lake, Renjola Pass, Gokyo Ri, Cho la pass Thame village etc are the attraction of upper region.

You need to get a National Park Permit and a TIMS Card to travel into this region. For climbing peaks and mountains, you need to take other climbing permits. Climbing Permit fee for Mt. Everest is USD 25000 for an individual  and USD 70000 for a group of 7 climbers.
National Park Permit Fees for SAARC nationals is Approx. USD 15 and Approx. USD 30 for Non-SAARC Nationals.
TIMS card fee for SAARC nationals individual is USD 6 and SAARC group travelers is USD 3 whereas it costs USD 20 for Non-SAARC individual traveler and USD 10 for Non-SAARC group travelers.
