Nepal is a landlocked sovereign state located between Republic of China in the North and Republic of India in the East, South and West.Nepal was officially declared The Federal Republic Of  Nepal on May 28, 2008 overthrowing 237 years long Monarchy.Prithvi Narayan Shah had initiated the campaign for unified Nepal in 1768.Later his successor had continued the unification campaign to transform into present Nepal. Gyanendra Shah was the last King of Nepal.After a decade long Maoist war in Nepal, Monarchy was abolished by the first Constituent Assembly Meeting  of Nepal on 28 May, 2008.

Nepal is politically divided into 14 zones and 75 districts with total area of 147,181 square kilometres  and a population of approximately 27 million according to the last Population census in 2012.Nepal prastices Constitutional President and Executive Prime Minister elected from the parliament.Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal.

81 % of Nepalis follow  Hindu religion  whereas Buddhism is practiced by 9%, Islam 4.4%, Kirat 3%, Christianity 1.4% and Animism 0.4%.
Lord Buddha was born in Kapilbastu district of Southern Nepal.
The first constituent Assembly of Nepal was dissolved in 28 May 2012 after it failed to draft a new constitution in 4 years.Present government , formed under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Khila Raj Regmi, has announced the 2nd date of constituent assembly for November 19 2013.

Nepal has three popular touristic cities kathmandu, Pokhara and Dharan.Pokhara is mostly visited by foreigners whereas Dharan is mostly visited by the local tourists.Nepal has 8 Peaks  out of world's Highest 14 peaks over 8000 mtrs including world's highest Peak The Mt. Everest 8848 mtrs known as Sagarmatha in Nepali language.
